It's a problem - I feel like it cuts me off from a lot of excellent work. I can take movies and tv shows being at a slower pace, probably because of the visual stimuli, but when all I'm getting is words, in general it needs to be hilariously funny or of serious interest because otherwise I get bored quickly.
It probably also doesn't help that I don't process auditory information nearly as well as I do written words - I can have difficulty distinguishing between consonant sounds and sometimes need people to repeat or rephrase in order to parse what they're saying correctly (and sometimes will watch TV with captions on if I'm having a particularly thick kind of day) - and I can't ask a recording to do that.
