Proposition 8, Bow Before Science and the Law

It's dead, it's dead, the bitch is dead.  So cool that the chief reason the judge found for plaintiffs was because the proponents (rather than defendants - the named defendants, eg the governor and attorney-general, apparently refused to present a position) could not field a single expert who could pass the Daubert test - the requirement that all experts be shown to have the knowledge, education, and experience to qualify as an expert in the field.  Not. A. One.  The plaintiffs presented something like eight expert witnesses Not to mention a trio of missing witness charges against the proponents - people who'd claimed they would testify for the proponents but failed to testify at time of trial.  In the event of a missing witness charge, the judge or jury deciding the case is obligated to assume that the witnesses' testimony would have agreed with opposition's experts.

A good day for law, science, and society at large.
