Release 88 -- It may actually be worse than we anticipated.
I was in the middle of a comm discussion when the code push finally went through. I started poking around and got VERY unhappy. My first fit of towering rage was directed at the Feedback account:
Subject: So, you don't actually care about your users concerns with Release 88.
We were reassured by igrick that the option to retain subject lines would be available. I was in the middle of a discussion when the push went through a few minutes ago and all of the titles became bolded headers in the body subject. I can't find the option to reactivate subject lines anywhere. Also, loading and posting have experienced a lag of about 50%, and comment notifications are taking close to 10 minutes to arrive AND NO LONGER HAVE PRE-EXISTING THREAD TITLES IN THEIR E-MAIL SUBJECT LINES. NOW EVERY TIME SOMEONE REPLIES IN THE SAME THREAD, I GET AN ENTIRE NEW GMAIL CONVERSATION AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHICH COMM OR THREAD THIS COMMENT COMES FROM UNTIL AFTER I READ THE ENTIRE EMAIL.
Unless this gets fixed soon, the five comms I use that require subject headings? We will leave this place and head to DW where we can still function as we have for the last eight years.
If there's any way to turn subject lines back on, please let me know. And I really hope that the subjects that got bumped down will go back to the subject title area, otherwise you have just completely screwed over the entire history of HUNDREDS of comms, if not thousands.
Way to show you have any concern for you user base, especially given that people and comms who demanded that the subject line be retained tend to be the users who most frequently purchase multiple paid accounts.
In conclusion: you may have finally driven me away entirely.
I send no regards and wish igrick a horrific and painful holiday.

Then, because the official LJ publications in english have had sweet fanny adams to say about the thousands of complaints they've received in the last week, I wandered over to
igrick's page and pressed google translate and hoped for the best.
Folks, today a new commenting system in the default style, which had previously been in beta mode for more than a week, is now available for all users. Special thanks to users who participated in the testing of changes, for their help in finding bugs and inconsistencies in LiveJournal v.88. Hopefully, we will continue our cooperation in this area and beyond.
By the way, if you're using S2 styles, but want to comment it was new, it's enough to enable the option "Disable customized comment pages" on the page style settings.
But that's not all. On the pages of new comments is now no more banners. This is the first step in getting rid of user pages of advertising, which will reduce the number of hits in the whole Learn a little more than a third.
As you can see, we keep our word. (emphasis mine)
Well, you guys know how well I take to being blatantly lied to, so here's my comment there. Please direct replies over there or to whenever there's a news post. Oh, also, for those that want DW invitation codes, I'll hand them out in that thread, just to rub it in their faces a little harder.
