Huzzah!

Sorry if you're bored about hearing about the big bang story, but I had to share.  It's one of the main tropes of Discworld fic, but this story's from Dean's POV, so I despaired of being able to do it.  Despair no more: finally, in the seventh chapter, we have a footnote!  My cup overfloweth with squee.

(Oh, and for those counting, after 20,451 words and seven chapters, we're finally out of Ankh-Morpork.  I remember when I was worried about whether or not the fic would meet the word requirement.  Those were more innocent times.  Lancre, ho!)

Much appreciated. Oh, btw, here are two of the fics that I mentioned to you the other week:

Eat It Twilight by Lilaeth
Criminal Minds/SPN xover
Call it PG-13
Made of awesome in that it doesn't force the CM team to accept the supernatural stuff.  Spoils up through the first five or so episodes of both fifth seasons.  Long fic, but not a novel.

Es Muss Sein
by Featherfish (note: anonymous comment fic w/o title, so I used the subject of her first line, which fits, and whoa she just unveiled herself)
Sherlock Holmes/House of Leaves xover
Hard R
Oooh, this thing just wrapped up and raised the hairs on the back of my neck to the end.  The html formatting alone... The one with the quantum equation. Takes the basic House of Leaves plot and sets it at 221b Baker Street, but familiarity with either canon isn't really necessary to enjoy the basics, though the in-joke references are wonderful. Everything that made the original House my obsession for a few months: the impossible underlying story, making the medium the message, hidden codes, multiple layers of unreliable narrators all sinking into madness, a random fantasy of Holmes/Watson that doesn't break the UST (it was written for a kinkmeme after all) - fucking brilliant, no other word for it.  Also, occasionally terrifying.  The house is real.

Wheee! I shall bookmark them for some time when I have the brain to read them. :)
